We were going to California to meet my cousin, Sam, when it happened.
We passed a yellow sign saying NEXT 4 MILES.
Above was a black car, with what looked like up-side down fangs closing in on the car. "I wonder what that means?" I asked Mum, confused. "Sometimes the road men get a little silly, dear and they try to scare people".
'Phew, what a releif,' I thought to myself. I unbuckled my seat-belt and laid my head down on my folded up jersey. I soon drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up the sky was dark. I looked at the clock, and the time 3:39 pm flashed in my face. 'Huh , that's strange, it's 3:40 and the sky is black' I thought to myself. 'Hmm maybe we are already in California, ' Nope.  fish fell on top of our windscreen, and Mum screamed. I looked out the window. "It's raining fish". I yelled at Mum, she didn't listen, she was already barfing. Then I saw why. Huge waves hovered on either side of us. I closed my eyes and waited for them to crash down on us. But they just wavered in their spots. Mum stopped barfing, but instead she started crying. "We're going to die!" She wailed.
When I looked out the window again, we passed a man with a hooded black cloak. he waves were about to tumble over us, but the man waved his staff and they re wound. "That's from R.I."That's Moses, That's Moses!" I yelled at Mum.

Trick or treating

"Trick or Treat!" I screamed at the door as an old man opened the it. He didn't have any lollies in his hand. "Sorry kids, I don't celebrate Halloween 'cause i'm.....Muslim!" He whispered in a scary, mysterious, tone. House after house, nobody seemed to celebrate Halloween.
I looked around, then looked at myself through the glass screen on my phone. Sam & Niamh, scary zombies with blood trickling down their shirts, Maxine, an undead doll, like Annabelle, and Aria, half pretty, half ugly, with a scar down the right side of her forehead like she had been shot. Then me, a girl with a dress and a witch hat, not really scary. I wanted to be a hag witch, with blood and wrinkles covering my face, but Dad refused. "I will not have you going round Cromwell with... well, that on your face!" He had answered when I showed him the picture.
"Race to the finish line?" I asked Aria. "Marks, set... GO!" She replied quickly. I ran as fast as I could, which that wasn't very fast with a cauldron full of lollies and a big, clumpy, costume. Aria finished first and rang the door bell. I got there just in time to see the person open the door. "Trick or treat!" I screamed at the door as an old man opened it

Caroline & Georgina Ever Swindell

On Wednesday the Ever Swindell Twins came to vist us. Since our topic this term is on the  Olympics, we have have been focusing on them. They are two time gold medalists, one medal from Athens in 2004, and one from Bejing in 2008. We asked them questions about the food and how it was to be in the Olympics.

This is a photo of them talking to us. Georgina is on the left with her toddler, and Caroline is on the right with her baby girl.

Ratty Memoir

I was sitting at my desk, opening the blog to see what The Question of the Week was. Ratty glided through the door with his head held high, like a king, scanning the class for his throne. He hopped onto the table to get a better view. He saw it. Far across the room was Mrs. Lees wheeling chair, with her exotic pillow on top. He ran across the room as fast as he could go, worried the chair would soon be taken. He pounced onto the chair, twisted himself into a circle, and quickly fell asleep.

A few minutes later, the bell rang and we assembled on the mat, with Ratty still on the chair. Mrs. Lees walked into the room. Rat still wouldn't budge. "Hop of my chair!!!" Mrs. Lees shouted. Rat reluctantly rolled of Mrs. Lees chair, hissing the whole time.

'I'll be back,' he thought to himself as he wandered into Mrs. Pavitt's room.

Leaf Poem

My leaf poem

The chlorophyll slowly dies out, taking the green colour with it.
The stem curves out the side, like an umbrella handle.
The beige underside turns to brown as it gets closer to the edge.
The vein shoots straight up, from the bottom to the top.

Sometimes on a Saturday Morning

Sometimes on a Saturday morning

Sometimes on a Saturday morning Lucy and I will get up out of our warm comfy beds, and we make pancakes for breakfast.

I would snatch the flour packet out of the pantry, while Lucy would grab the eggs, milk, and butter out of the fridge. Then we would get the salt and sugar from the bench. We would mix the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl, then add in the wet ingredients. We would fry up the mix until golden brown. I would go around the house and asked everytime what they wanted on their pancakes, and by this time Theo would by up and watching t.v.

While we were waiting for the other pancakes to cook, we would put the cooked pancakes in the oven to keep them warm. When all the pancakes were made, we would call everyone to the table and we would dig into the scrumptious pancakes
